Saturday Sensations

On Saturday I did two things...... can you guess what they were?
Saturday morning Liz, Norman, Emily, Susan, Kyle, Garret, and I went to the Nashville Zoo. It was ICE DAY! Yes, it was hot. We went early, however. It was a great day. I think Kyle
really enjoyed having Norman along this time. We laughed a lot!!!

After lunch and back to my house Emily, Susan, Kyle and Garrett went to
the pool for some fun time. I went to watch then back it to the cool spot and
a nap. I cannot believe I took a nap! I never nap!! I guess the heat just got to me.

A fun time was had by all.

Until next time .....The upper crust is a lot of crumbs held together by their dough.

Someone Special

This is someone special to me but it took me a long time to realize that. This is my brother-in-law, Lafayette -- Laff to us. My sister, Liz, and Laff have been married for thirty years (last week). This man would do anything for me -- complain about it, but would do it. But for ten years I was mad at him, almost despised him. Why? Because he took away my best friend. Yes she was only about an hour and fifteen minutes away. But I was used to her being in the next room. He was special to my parents also. They adored him. And he loved them I think as much as his own parents. He was not a member of the church when he and Liz married and I really thought that would both her more than it did. He always went to church with Liz and soon become very involved as a member. He is now an Elder at Fairfield Church of Christ in Centerville. Every Sunday morning he calls around to his usual people to see how they are doing, encouraging them, whatever their needs may be. He also will call me, Emily and Susan to make sure we are up and ready for church. He is a football coach, football fanatic (Roll Tide), hunter and fisher (is that a word) and someone who would give you the shirt off his back. He works the farm for his parents who are not able and sometimes does not get anything out of it, but that is not why he is doing it. He does buy my dinner occasionally. We haven't always seen eye to eye but we know that from the start. He says I am crazy and I say he is crazier. He is first a Christian, a son, a brother, a husband, a father (to my wonderful nieces - Emily and Susan), and someone I am proud to call my brother-in-law.

Tuesday's Thoughts

Thinking--- really how much fun, simple fun Friday night and Saturday was with Emily and Susan was. We went to Lewisburg for breakfast and then drove around for awhile for me to take some pictures --- of course those two always wanted to drive away and leave me there.
We went to a very old church (but evidence tells us services are still held there) that the kids at Forrest tell Emily is haunted. Now come on. It was really a very quaint little church. (pictures later). Many, many old graves surrounded this church and some not so old. The scenery was beautiful. The drive was wonderful. And I suppose the best part was just spending time with the girls!!! Thanks for spending time with me.

Until next time .. . . . .The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.
"But as for me, I will always have hope." Psalm 71:14

Saturday Summary

Finally went to bed at 2:00 AM!!! I don't know what time Emily and Susan finally went to bed, however. I was up at. 7:30, but I am in "my room" staying quite until they wake up --- or I think I am going to go wake them up to go get some breakfast. I had fun spending some girl time with them. Sometimes that is scary though.
Kyle and Garrett will be here next week for a couple of weeks --that will be great. I will get some pictures up of them.

Yesterday on my way to Chapel Hill I went through Cross Keys and saw these two outside playing and one little miss has to show off her her new walking skills. Poor Mom was suffering with allergies but Poppi and Nonni were enjoying a beautiful afternoon outside.
Until next time . . . . .Keep Learning: Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain get idle. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop". And the devil's name might be Alzheimer's.

Finally Friday

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can. Let's see if this works.
Yes!!!!!
Until next time ..... be as patient with others as God is with you.

Monday Musings

Okay! I did it! Man did I do it! Two things --- did I do it, really did it!!!
1) went to the pool on Friday, kept waitning for Emily to come. The weather was great, not hot at all. First clue Gayle. the wind was blowing, overcast. Just sat there talking and listening to people. Emily arrived about 1:15 ( I arrived there at 9 AM). Em and I stayed until about 4:00. You guessed it --- I am sunburned. Mainly my back and chest and one ear!!!! Nothing on my legs -- wouldn't you love to have some sun on your legs? I would!
2) for two years I have longed for the Nikon D40 camera. Every time I go in Wolf they ask me "are you ready" Well, I went in Friday and I was ready for them. Yikes!!! New York trip helped me decide. Now all I need to do is learn how to post some pictures here and really bore everyone. But let me tell you, it is simple, or so they say. I have a lot to learn yet, however. But I do just love it. However, my little Nikon Coolpix L11 actually had many more "simple" options --- enjoy it Emily!!!! Emily said Susan would be jealous--- no way, this is like a little Brownie compared to Susan's cameras!!! She is a self-taught (with some added classes) photographer! She is a great little photographer even if I do have to brag on my nieces once
every hour or so.
Enough about me.

Until next time..... Tell the people that you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

Thursday Thoughts

Today is Misty's last day at work since Jake will make his arrival next on Wednesday July 8th. Just looking forward to October 1st when she will return!!! July 4th in two days --- our country's freedom. We have so much to be thankful for, and especially our freedom. I don't have any plans --- just be thankful for what I do have.

Dianne and I may get together to try to come up with an itiniary and walking directions for New York. So far away yet.

Have a safe and happy 4th!!

Until next time....... A word of encouragement at the right moment may be the turning point for a struggling life.
