It is all about famiy . .. . ..

Do you recognize anyone in these pictures? Do you recognize the house in the background of the one with the three children?
Going through (old) pictures is funny sometimes. Sometimes. What about that hat Liz has on? And her purse? Oh, and I even have a purse!!! Is Norman protecting his sisters?

Thursday's thoughts

I just read this on my calendar.......

Our lives seem to be controlled by whatever blow hits us next, sending us from headache to heartache to horror story. But we can choose how we respond emotionally. We can choose to hold on to the ONE who promises never to leave us.

Amen. Count your blessings. I just did.

Let me tell a little story that happened last week on Thursday. I was in Kroger checking out, the young clerk was just talking about what a bad day it had been -- she was suppose to have been off an hour ago, she had lost her car key unless it was still in her car, it was raining, she had to work Saturday night and wanted off, and on and on. Pleasant but talkative. I just listened and "yes and "oh". Then she stopped and said so what are your plans for the weekend? (in the same ho-hum tone).
I said I will be at the funeral home Friday and Saturday due to a death in the family. Bless her heart --- she went pale. She started apologizing about going on and on about nothing. I told her that was okay, we all have to vent some times and there is always someone out there going through something worse than we are at that time AND that I was very blessed to have an aunt like I did and she was in a much better place than she and I were at that time.
I then move on out to the parking lot in the pouring rain, and I mean pouring. I was putting my groceries in the car and just looking around saw elderly trying to get in/out. Moms with small children struggling to get them in from the rain... on and on.
Count your blessings. I just did.

Tuesday's Thoughts

Well, Friday night Liz, Susan and I went to Emily's for our second annual sleepover. Saturday morning we had lunch at Marcy Jo's. Great, wonderful little place.

I just finished reading Whispers of the Bayou, by Mindy S. Clark. This was a light mystery (is that possible), and I usually do not like mysteries, will not even try them. But this one was really good. Thanks Judy for sharing these two. By two --- I mean the second one is Shadows of Lancaster County, by Mindy S. Clark. I am sure it is going to be just as good.

Five more weeks until NEW YORK!!!!! Dianne has given us an itinerary --- just how long does she think we are going to be there?

I went to the dermatologist today for a second application of liquid nitrogen on a "wart". Instead the doctor decided to do a punch biopsy!!! No pain then --- a little bit now. Neither of us is worried about anything --- just a benign fibroma that I will not leave alone. But now I have a couple of stitches in it -- IN MY WAY! (and for two weeks)

Uncle Benton and I were sitting in the CCU today talking about church and singing, etc. I told him how unbelievable the singing was at Southern Hills Sunday followed by a wonderful lesson.
And some faiths think they have to have music --- then you can't hear the words.

Until next time . . . . . .Too many people who try to use the weekend to unwind simply unravel.

No place like home

2nd Ave South
The Square

Historic Presbysterian Chruch

Cumberland Presbyterian Church

Fanklin Theatre

Episcopal Church
No place like home, no place like home, no place like home. . . . .. .

I don't think so....

Okay this is the church that is said to be haunted..... I don't think so. I really think Emily was just trying to pull my leg... She thinks just because I have been around the block many times that I will believe anything she says. Wrong. the students at Forrest Tell her about it, however. The grounds were spectacular, a quietness all around, there were about three different areas with graves, old and new around the church. And as you leave the arched sign above the gated entrance says "Ya'll Come Back". Now does that really sound like it would be haunted? I don't think so....
Susan looked in the windows and there was new (modern) materials and games in the classrooms.
Can't wait for another adventure with the girls, oh wait, maybe I can.....

Thursday's Thoughts

Garrett Oakley Choate is 11 years old today!! Happy Birthday.

I remember the day you were born-- -your big brother and I standing outside the door waiting to hear you cry. there will never be another one like one --- you make us laugh, you make us cry (in a good way). Just keep on being you. I miss you and hope you have a great day in Columbus, OH. I am going to take a weekend trip to see you soon. Love you bunches.

Until next time. . . . .In life what sometimes appears to be the end is really a new beginning.
