Simply Saturday

Not much happening today. There is a lot I need to be doing, just not doing it!!!!
Humpty Chadwell passed away last Sunday, May 10 after a very short illness and his service was on Wednesday. This family is so very dear to me.

Penny and Chris are here from Michigan and we are suppose to meet at Pancho's in Spring Hill tonight --- depends on how my foot is feeling --- I am having a flare up of gout -- very painful, yet much better than Thursday and Friday.

The Ladies Retreat was this weekend but I did not get my money in on time and then I probably would not have been able to go with the painful gout anyway. I am really needing my dose of Southern Hills Church tomorrow though. It is always very uplifting and encouraging and just gives you that dose you need to get you through life, then get back there on Wednesday for some more.

Until next time ..........It takes less time to do a thing right than to explain why you didn't.

Monday Musings

Mother's Day was yesterday and even though my Mother is no longer with me I still think of her every day. I hope all the mothers I know had a wonderful day. Emily gave me a card. Susan bought my lunch on Saturday. Liz bought flowers for the cemetery and I took them there on Saturday. Yesterday I went to Marie's for lunch and then to visit with Mrs. Marlin for awhile and then on to NHC to stay with Dianne and Humpty for awhile. Humpty passed away about 10:00 last night. He was never in pain, how fortunate. He and Marie were married for 63 years!!! My heart just breaks for this family who are all so very close.

The weather is pretty today, finally no rain!!! Not much to report. Will check in later.

Monday Musings

Gayle thinks it is time for the rain to stop! Sure we need rain but why do we have to get so much at one time for soooo many days in a row. My feet have been wet for four days now. We will be wanting some of this in July when there is no rain. Don't get me wrong, I know God knows what he is doing and maybe he does this to make me sit up and take notice of things around me. Believe me I watched some robins splashing in puddles (lakes) of water at Marie and Humpty's yesterday. How long has it been since I noticed that??? The grass is very green, wet but green. The buds and colors are brighter, wet but brighter. And, I guess one of the best things is the air quality is much better. We can all breathe much better and the allergies are better and the migraine gone. Okay, the rain , all of it, was a good thing. Thank you for rain.

I spent some time with Emily Friday which was very good. She actually had to borrow my car for a little while. Then Friday night we had pizza with Dianne at Marie's.

Until next time . . . . . . ..The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.

Finally Friday

May 1 already!! Things are calming down. . . .except the weather. Outside it is rather frightful today!! Wait, is that a song? Dark, dark clouds again (of course, it is Friday).

I had my evaluation this week --- all went well, good job, etc....no raises this year. Thankful to have a job and one that I enjoy.

Extra prayers for the Chadwell family --- Humpty has cirrhosis and it does not look good for him. And the Proctor family --- Uncle Russell has bladder cancer. Carolyn facing this again.

Emily has my car today while her car is at Moody's. So my lunch was vending machine snacks!!!
Cheese crackers (yum) with peanut butter (yuck). And a Twix bar -- too sweet.
What I really want is a pizza.

I went to the Rice's last night but the only little Rice's there were Kelsey and Jake. It is always such a pleasure to be there anyway.

Until next time. . . . . .Learn to look for joy everywhere you go.

Long time no blog

Wow, it has been a really long time and I have missed writing (?) but sometimes other things just come first.
Aunt Allene was sick with what we thought was her usual things but then was diagnosed with hepta/renal failure and cor pulmonale. She was admitted to NHC on Thurs 4/16 and the family was called in on Sat 4/17. I was there from about 7:00 AM on 4/17 until Sun 4/18 10:00PM, back on Mon night, back on Tues night and left on Wed morning about 6:00. Back down there on Thursday at 2:00. She was finally at peace about 9:20 on Thursday April 23. It was very heart breaking to watch. I am so glad I was able to be there with the family, however. Tommy did the most part of her service and did a great job. Now the family is dealing with Norma (mentally challenged) who has always been cared for by her mother.
Now back at work and things should return to normal. Except ---- Mrs. Marlin is now in NHC here. Humpty back in WMC, but Marie seems to be doing better right now.
It hurts when you think now you are the older generation!!!!
But I am forever thankful to God for putting these people in my life, for loving me and letting me love them. They have each in their way made a difference and impression in my life.

New babies at VMG Business Office are on their way!!! Crissy had her baby girl on Friday. Amanda's Addison is due in about three weeks. And Misty's baby boy in July --- might be little Jake to play with big brother Luke. How Sweet!!!! I don't know if another one can he as cute as Luke though.

I did get back to Southern Hills Sunday for worship service --- I needed to be home at Southern Hills. I did miss the forgiveness class taught by Linda, however. I needed to get back to Dickson for the funeral service. I did attend a service at the nursing home last Sunday, but one just has to come back home for a good dose of family and nurturing from Danny. You go Danny!
Thanks everyone for thinking of me during this time.

Until next time. . . . . I know a little suffering is good for the soul, bur somebody must be trying to make a saint out of me.

Monday Musings

What a wild weekend! Tornadoes on Friday, beautiful on Saturday and Sunday. This was Easter Sunday and Liz, Laff and Emily were in Mississippi. I went to church -- Danny had a wonderful sermon as usual and then to Marie and Humpty's for lunch, then back to sunday night serive for another great lession and edification meeting and meal where I got to give sweet baby Justus his bottle (down to the last drop). Made the perfect ending to my day! Hannah gave me an Easter card with a cookie in it (oatmeal cake). She is so sweet. She got her cast off! But still walks like she has it on. The Spears family returned late in the afternoon, no problems. All has been quite at work today, a late lunch, almost time to go actually. Thunderstorms again just a little while ago. I am going to the library to pick up the last in the series.... Forever, by Karen Kingsbury.

Until next time. . . . . . .The gift of a written note: A brief, handwritten note may be remembered for a lifetime and may even change a life.

Finally Friday

Yes, it is Friday. What a week this has been. Just a week mostly and then the unreal.
Dan Miller's death --- Channel 4 News will never be the same. That is like losing a family member. I can remember when he left Nashville and then returned and I was much younger. My heart goes out to his family and co-workers-- those that were with him every day.
Marie and Humpty have both been to the ER twice this week. Then later this week Hump was finally admitted -- now he may need a feeding tube and both may have to go to the nursing home for awhile. Heartbreaking.
Today's weather --- tornadoes touched down in Murfreesboro, lots of damage. So far a Mom and 9 week old baby did not survive.

Susan has been having headaches and actually had a time when she thought she "blacked out" for a second last week. Some left arm tingling and numbness. She went to the doctor today who thinks she may be having a variant of migraines - gave her an injection and some medication. She does feel better. BP was within normal limits. They have ordered a CT scan. This is my youngest niece --- she has to be alright.
Liz, Laff and Emily have gone to Mississippi for Easter. Susan has to work and I will probably go to the Chadwells.
